Akhada Yoga Teacher Training Program

Akhada Yoga – 20-Hour Teacher Training

Where Strength Meets Yogic Awareness

Akhada Yoga brings together the discipline of Yoga and traditional Indian strength practices to create an integrated approach to strength, mobility, coordination, breath, and awareness.

Through traditional tools including Mudgar, Gada, Samtola, and other Akhada implements, participants explore functional strength training alongside yogic movement, conscious breathing, and mindful practice.

This 20-hour training is designed for teachers and dedicated practitioners who want to experience a distinctive movement tradition and learn how to practise and teach it safely, progressively, and meaningfully.

What Is Akhada Yoga?

Akhada Yoga draws from traditional Indian physical culture while integrating the awareness, mobility, breath, and inner discipline of Yoga.

The practice develops more than muscular strength. It explores the relationship between stability, coordination, mobility, rhythm, breath, focus, and controlled movement.

Traditional Akhada tools introduce asymmetrical, rotational, and multi-planar loading patterns that challenge the body in unique ways while encouraging greater awareness and control.

Why Train with Traditional Akhada Tools?

Asymmetrical & Off-Centre Loading

Tools such as the Mudgar, Gada, and Samtola create changing and off-centre loads that challenge grip, core stability, coordination, joint control, and full-body strength.

Circular & Multi-Planar Movement

Swinging, rotational, and circular movement patterns help develop mobility, balance, proprioception, coordination, and strength across multiple planes of movement.

Mind–Body Integration

Akhada practice requires timing, rhythm, breath, attention, and full-body awareness. Students learn to develop strength with greater control and conscious engagement rather than through effort alone.

Strength with Awareness. Tradition with Purpose.

Akhada Yoga is more than a strength practice. It is an exploration of embodied discipline, where movement, breath, focus, stillness, and strength develop together.

By the end of the training, you will have a deeper understanding of traditional Akhada tools, greater confidence in working with them, and a practical framework for integrating traditional strength-based movement with the principles of Yoga.
