What is Shankha Prakshalana?
Shankha Prakshalana is an advanced purification technique described in ancient Hatha Yoga texts like the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. The term translates to "conch purification," where "shankha" means conch shell and "prakshalana" means washing. The abdomen’s resemblance to a conch shell is the basis for this name.

This technique involves consuming a specific quantity of saltwater and performing prescribed yogic postures to cleanse the alimentary canal from mouth to anus. It purifies the entire digestive tract, from the mouth to the colon, promoting optimal digestive health.

Important Note: After the process, we will provide you with a nourishing meal at the studio and ask that you bring a box to take a portion for your evening meal. You will also be required to follow a specific dietary regimen for at least one day after the procedure. The meal we provide will be khichdi, a special lentil and rice dish that is easy to digest and perfect for aiding your digestive system’s recovery.
